Ubc Dam 11 is held back by Upper Brushy Creek WS SCS Site 11 Dam , an earthfill embankment, holding the pool back by sheer mass and an impervious core rather than by the strength of concrete , standing 41 ft high and running 2,600 ft along its crest , built across CHANDLER BRANCH in Williamson County , near ROUND ROCK . It was completed in 1967 and modified in 2005H;2005O , and is owned by TAYLOR SWCD;UPPER BRUSHY CREEK WCID (a local government owner) , to a design credited to FREESE AND NICHOLS, INC;USDA NRCS;USDA NRCS.
Its recorded primary purpose is flood risk reduction — the pool is drawn down between storms so there is empty space waiting for the next flood, which is why this level can fall in dry weather and climb sharply after rain . It also serves flood risk reduction;fire protection, stock, or small fish pond.
It is founded on rock;soil, with a unlisted/unknown;unlisted/unknown core. Its spillway is ungated: once the pool reaches the crest, water leaves on its own and the operator cannot hold it back. The spillway opening is 403 ft wide. Its outlet works use slide (sluice gate)1;uncontrolled2.
