The dam behind Baker Lake
Baker Lake is held back by Baker Lake Dam , a buttress dam — a thin upstream face braced by a row of supports behind it , standing 10 ft high and running 110 ft along its crest , built across Tr-Deer Creek in Whatcom County . It was completed in 1966 , and is owned by JamesOlson (a private owner) .
Its recorded primary purpose is irrigation — the pool is drawn down across the growing season to serve water rights downstream, then refilled over winter . It also serves irrigation;recreation.
It is founded on rock;soil, with a concrete;unlisted/unknown core.
